How to Join

Junior Member

A person who has attained the age of 12 years and is under 18 years of age may apply to become a Junior Member.

Any person under the age of 12 years who wishes to join the Club must submit in writing, an application for Board approval.

Applicants for Junior Membership must be proposed by a current WAGC member who holds playing rights.

A Junior Member has Lifestyle playing privileges subject to such restrictions and conditions as the Board may impose.

Lifestyle Playing Privileges

A Junior Member may participate in golf competitions but must be accompanied by at least one Member in their playing group who is not a Junior Member and there cannot be more than two Members under the age of 18 in a group unless it is a dedicated junior timeslot or approved by a Captain.

A Junior Member is able to participate in all inclusions of the Junior Membership Program.  

Application Processes 

To apply, you may complete an online application form or collect one in person from the club. A current WAGC playing member with voting rights is required to propose your application; only their name is needed, as we will contact them directly.

Once the application is submitted, we will reach out for a non-refundable deposit of $250, which will be applied toward your annual subscription if your application is accepted. Following this, you will be invited for an interview with an appointee.

Applications are generally processed over several weeks, assuming no objections are raised, with memberships beginning on the first of each month. Upon approval, you will undergo an induction to complete the process.

 

Junior Development Member

A person who is under 18 years of age on the day of joining, may become a Junior Development Member if they are a child, grandchild or sibling of a current member or registered participant in the Club’s junior program are eligible to apply.  

A Junior Development Member may play on the course from 3:30pm and must be accompanied by an adult Member. Practice facilities may be used before 3:30pm during school holidays outside of competition tee times.

Junior Development Members may register for 9-hole social competitions (for the purpose of gaining a GA handicap or recording scores to handicap).

The Junior Development membership is an introductory level membership for children who are keen to learn more about the sport and begin to play on the golf course.  Once a junior is confident on the golf course, has obtained a GA handicap or is showing an increased interest in learning the game and participating in competitions, they should move into Junior Membership. 

A Junior Development Member may apply to become a Junior Member at any time, or should they reach the age of 18 years they may then apply to transition into to Lifestyle Membership from the Membership Year after reaching the age of 18 years. The Board may approve or reject the application and may include conditions on its approval.

A Junior Development Member is not eligible to participate in the Junior Membership Program, however, they may enter and play in the Junior Summer 9’s competitions for the purpose of gaining a GA handicap.

Transition to Lifestyle Membership at 18 Years

A Junior Development or Junior Member will transition to Lifestyle Membership from the Membership Year after reaching the age of 18 years unless they have applied and been approved by the Board to become a Member in another category. The Board may approve or reject the application and may include conditions on its approval.
